APATHY
Apathy is an American Thrash metal band from Clifton New Jersey, formed in 2000 and in the summer of 2009 released there highly anticipated album "A Decade Of Violence". Produced and recorded by Chris Gibson (Glassjaw, CIV, Agnostic Front) at Upstart Studio Hoboken NJ. The bands lyrics and album art which cover such topics as warfare, violent behavior and signs of the apocalypse is well complemented by the bands highly fueled music and melodic chaos. The timing of this album couldn't come at a better time as the resurrection of thrash metal is on the rise as bands Warbringer and Skeletonwitch are leading the charge. It is time to add Apathy to that list as serious contenders of the new thrash metal movement (NWOTHM).
The album is currently on sale at the bands website www.apathy-nj.com an Itunes. With only a handful of shows with bands Beneath the sky, Whiplash and Deceased, Apathy have received rave reviews from fans, webzine and local press calling there album one of the best metal records of 2009. "Machine Gun Rain" the first track off the album has become a fan favorite and has been aired on online radio stations, Thrash Til Death (Germany) which made the top 10 along with Slayer "World Painted Blood" and Metal Assault Radio (USA). Other stations that you can request to hear Apathy are WSOU & WDHA - (NJ) and WRIF (Michigan).
January 2010 Apathy was notified that ADOV was nominated for best thrash album of 2009 by metal webzine Silencesoloud.com. The fans made there vote and the band won best Thrash Metal Album, beating out some of there metal heroes Megadeth, Slayer, Kreator and Suicidal Tendencies. Sure it's not a Grammy but it's great accomplishment and is greatly appreciated.
Although A Decade Of Violence is still making noise and gaining acclaim, the band has already begun writing new material for the next album which they look to have out before the end of 2010. |
