AMELIA IS DEAD
Amelia is Dead is a metal band that was formed in the fall of 2009 by ex-Head Segment guitarists Rob Pierce and Ty Frisbie. After several lineup changes with musicians they had worked with years prior, they opted to find some new talent. After a series of listings on Craigslist, they came across Stephanie Smile and Andrew Marlowe on vocals and drums, respectively. The lineup wrote much of their set list before adding Chad Northrup on bass in mid-February 2010.
Amelia is Dead uploaded two tracks to their myspace on March 2nd, 2010 upon the release of "The Beautiful Suicide", their debut EP. It was recorded at More Sound Studios in Syracuse, NY. Since its release, the EP has received positive reviews and is available for free online, at shows or by request. Feel free to send us a message if you'd like one. We'll see what we can do. "Amnesia Kills Bodies" was featured on a local radio station TK99.5 on April 18th on a showcase called "Soundcheck", broadcasting local artists. The band has garnered a steady following for their fun, energetic shows.
The band played their first show in April 2010, and has continued to book shows steadily since then. The band has shared the stage with several national, as well as signed acts. The unique and powerful sound the band is recognized for has captured the attention of all types of metal enthusiasts. Amelia is Dead plans to enter More Sound again this summer. |
